MICHELLE'S PORTFOLIO
Attending a Keyleader retreat in Brantford got me really inspired to be involved with Key Club. Before, I didn't know much about the organization but Keyleader gave me the opportunity to connect with student leaders all over the area. I learned that the philosophy of KC is to develop leadership through service. I think this is the most distinctive quality of the club and the goal of all clubs throughout the world is the same. I found this to be an amazing cause which made me really want to become more involved so I became secretary of our school club last year.
KEYLEADER
EASTERN CANADA DISTRICT CONVENTION (DCON)
Attending DCON, an overnight 3 days convention in Toronto was an amazing experience. It was so motivational to be in a room of over 300 passionate leaders from across Canada celebrating a year of service. What other student leaders did in their community inspired me to become even more involved. The inspirational leaders I met encouraged me to also inspire, lead, and provide others with the same leadership opportunities that will allow them to grow as a leader.
APPLYING FOR WEBMASTER
After all the fulfilling experiences that Key Club has given me, I knew that I wanted to apply for a district position. As a result, I took the risk and applied to be District Webmaster. I was really hesistant at first because I didn't know if I had all the skills required but I realized that those problems may come later, but that I can always learn and figure out the solution. In the end, I did receive the position and on the right shows part of the 2015-2016 district board meeting for the first time!
